Blagoy Naydenov is returning to the professional ring and will be part of Pleven Fight Night: The Rise of the Viper in Pleven. His appearance joins a card headlined by Yosif Panov. Behind that news, however, is a story Blagoy himself has carried for years.
After six years without an official bout, he is preparing to compete again. His decision is driven both by missing the thrill of the ring and by a desire to avenge a defeat which, he says, changed his career and his life.
Boxing remains, even when competition stops
Naydenov knows the biggest sporting stages: in 2014, he became a Youth Olympic champion. Today, he speaks about his return through something more personal than medals — the bond with boxing that he kept throughout his years away from competition.
“Boxing has always been part of my life. Even when I was not competing, I remained connected to it. I think that bond is very strong, and I will always have the itch to box.”
— Blagoy Naydenov
There were moments when he thought he would never return. He admits that openly. With time, however, he began to miss the feeling of competition itself:
“With time, you begin to miss the thrill of being in the ring.”
— Blagoy Naydenov
That absence is one reason for his return. The other is an unfinished story that he discusses with complete honesty.
A rematch between nightmare and dream
The defeat Blagoy wants to avenge still carries deep personal meaning. When he looks back on it, he does not begin with technical explanations. He speaks about the change that followed:
“I had been at the top after some truly great successes, and then I landed not at zero, but at minus two.”
— Blagoy Naydenov
He explains why the desire to face that same challenge again has remained with him through the years:
“This rematch matters to me because I have carried a weight inside me for years. It does not go away; it feels as though it keeps growing and gives me no peace.”
— Blagoy Naydenov
In his story, the rematch sits between nightmare and dream: on one side is a painful memory; on the other, the desire for another chance. This is the personal story behind his return in Pleven.
“Once the train starts moving, you never know where it will stop”
Asked what kind of man and boxer is returning today, Naydenov places the emphasis on growth:
“As a person, I have grown and matured, and I never stop working on myself. As a boxer, I work on continuing to build my skills.”
— Blagoy Naydenov
When the conversation turns to the future, he begins with one specific goal — then leaves room for more:
“I am returning with the ambition of this particular fight. Once the train starts moving, you never know where it will stop…”
— Blagoy Naydenov
Blagoy Naydenov is choosing the ring again. The next chapter will be written in Pleven.
His appearance at The Rise of the Viper is part of a card headlined by Yosif Panov. The date of the show and Blagoy's opponent will be presented in separate announcements from Alexeev Boxing.
